Xiaomi, as promised, has launched a more powerful variant of their massive mid-range smartphone, the Mi Max Prime. The handset will go on sale as part of Xiaomi’s Diwali sale commencing from this month’s 17th through Mi.com for Rs. 19,999.
The primary difference between the regular Mi Max and Prime variants lies in their processing power. The latter brings a newer Snapdragon 652 Octa-Core processor clocked at 1.8Ghz stepping up from Snapdragon 650 hexacore chipset on the former. Furthermore, Mi Max Prime is backed up by an additional gigabyte of RAM (now, 4GB) and offers 128GB internal storage.
For the uninitiated, Mi Max’s rest of the specifications include an enormous 6.44-inch Full HD panel up front protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 4, measures 7.5mm in thinness and sports a metal design all around. Additionally, there’s support for SD card up to 256GB, a rear fingerprint sensor, infrared blaster, and comes in three colors – Dark Grey, Gold, and Silver. The camera arrangement includes a 16-Megapixel primary sensor with PDAF, a single LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and a 5-Megapixel secondary sensor with 85-degree wide-angle view.
The device packs up the usual bunch of connectivity features including 4G LTE, VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, A-GPS with Glonass 802.11ac and a hybrid SIM slot. Xiaomi will be conducting a three-day Diwali sale starting from October 17th where the Chinese manufacturer will be selling a series of products, not at much of a bargain but they’ll be available for purchase. That includes the Mi Air Purifier for Rs. 9,999, the Mi Band 2 for Rs. 1,999, and the 10000mAh Mi Power Bank Pro for Rs. 1,999. There will be also some Re. 1 flash sales where, if you are lucky, can buy stuff at merely Re 1.
