Oppo R11 Plus is the plus-sized variant of Oppo’s latest flagship smartphone R11. Aside the larger display, the device comes with a bigger battery and ample RAM.

This upper mid-range smartphone sports similar construction as the regular variant. Oppo R11 Plus shows a sleek, all-metal body that is good news for durability. The profile is slim, but not as much as the R11, at 7.8 millimetres. It is bulkier at about 188 grams.
One of its distinguishing features is the huge display, which measures 6 inches in diagonal size. Resolution is 1,080 x 1,920 pixels, so you can expect great viewing on the AMOLED panel. Oppo R11 Plus enjoys Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection for the display.
The Oppo R11 Plus retains the impressive dual camera setup of its regular brother. It packs a 20MP sensor and another 16MP sensor on its rear. The main camera uses a Sony IMX398 sensor and has an aperture size of f/1.7.
You can also describe this as a selfie-focused phone with the robust 20MP shooter residing on the front, above the display. On paper, this promises spectacular selfies.
The same Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset seen on the Oppo R11 attends to business here. The octa-core processor should fare well, but it can be argued that Oppo could have provided a more robust offering for the Oppo R11 Plus.
It features 6GB RAM to provide needed boost for performance. There is 64 GB of onboard storage, which you will reportedly be able to extend. The Oppo R11 Plus ships with Android 7.1 Nougat featuring Oppo’s ColorOS 3.1 skin.
Another highlight of the Oppo R11 Plus is its humongous battery with a capacity of 4,000 mAh. This looks like one to provide up to two-day battery life. It supports Oppo’s VOOC fast charge technology that supposedly gives you two hours of talk time from 5-minute charging.
You get a fingerprint sensor for fast unlocking and added security. The Oppo R11 Plus supports USB On-The-Go (OTG) for connecting other USB-based accessories. The smartphone offers LTE with VoLTE support and dual-band Wi-Fi.

You find in the Oppo F3 Plus an attractive, sleek device featuring ‘meticulous design.’ The smartphone sports an all-metal body, which Oppo says passed through rounds of sand-spraying, polishing and computer numerical control (CNC) milling. Onboard storage is generous at 64 GB and you will be able to expand it by up to 256 GB, if you feel like getting more. The Oppo F3 Plus comes with Oppo’s ColorOS 3.0 software, a customised version of Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The Sony Xperia R1 Plus should impress when it comes to selfies, at least on paper. It offers you an 8MP sensor on the front. This has wide-angle lens for capturing more friends in your shots.
Users can expect powerful performance from the Sony Xperia R1 Plus, albeit not the best at this price. It is powered by an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. Sony says you should expect no lag from this chip, but expect stunning graphics.
RAM of 3 GB looks respectable. You get 32 GB of inbuilt storage for keeping your photos, other files and apps. The Sony Xperia R1 Plus boots Android Nougat operating system from factory. There is promise of upgrade to Android 8.0 Oreo down the line.
The Sony Xperia R1 Plus features 4G LTE (Cat. 4) support and a reversible USB Type-C port. The affordable Android phone offers other regular connectivity options, such as Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi, as well. Some users may find the battery capacity of 2,620 mAh somewhat on the low side of things, though.

Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact is the most portable of Sony’s 2017 XZ series flagship offerings. Although it is smaller in size and makes some concessions, it packs powerful punch and shares a good number of the regular model’s features, including an impressive Motion Eye camera and innovative 3D Creator.

If you want a premium device that you can very comfortably operate with a single hand, the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact is one to consider. The design is one you should be used to if you have been following offerings in this range. It is somewhat lightweight, probably as a result of the use of a polymer-like material for the body.
Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact looks like one to rival Apple’s iPhone SE to an extent. It sports a 4.6-inch IPS display that uses Triluminos technology as the Sony Xperia XZ1. Sadly, the screen resolution is only 1,280 x 720 pixels. Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact also lacks HDR support.
There is no difference between what the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact offers in the camera department and that of the main flagship device. You also still get the 3D content creator. With this, you can turn any image into a 3D object and print.
The concessions made on the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact don’t extend to performance. It packs similar solid punch as the Xperia XZ1, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor ticking away under the hood.
The robust chip gets backing from similar 4GB RAM. Onboard storage is 64 GB and is expandable. The Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact was among the first to boot latest Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
The mobile phone offers both 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port. There is support for Wi-Fi connections on both 2.4Gz and 5GHz bands. Oddly, it offers no fingerprint sensor on some models.
Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact is not yet official in Nigeria, but a third party seller is currently offering the smartphone on Jumia Nigeria as part of the Jumia Global program. The Sony Xperia XZ1 shows its maker’s signature design. That isn’t exactly a good thing if you are the type that likes to turn heads with your devices. With the rather thick bezels, it looks a lot like its predecessors from years past. But that’s not to say nothing has changed.
Sony has carried out a bit of refining. This one is noticeably slimmer than the Xperia XZ at 7.4 millimetres. The unibody design features metal – precisely, a single slab of aluminium. Its maker still managed to keep things somewhat lightweight despite the choice of material.
It is apparent that Sony made the water-resistant Sony Xperia XZ1 for immersive entertainment. The phone sports a 5.2-inch display with Full HD resolution. While the display isn’t the best we expect from a flagship, it should still impress.
The display has sturdy Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protecting it. It boasts HDR support for a viewing experience comparable to that of Sony’s latest BRAVIA TVs.
The Sony Xperia XZ1 rocks a 19MP Exmor RS sensor on the rear, similar to that of the Xperia XZ Premium. This enjoys the backing of solid features to turn out high quality images. The features include predictive phase detection autofocus, five-axis image stabilisation and Motion Eye tech.
Sony Xperia XZ1 can record super slow-mo videos at 960 frames per second. You can capture an image; turn it into 3D content, and print.
You also get a 13MP wide-angle camera for selfies. This uses screen as flash.
