Fossil, a brand synonym with wrist watches has finally forayed into the wearable business in India. The new range of devices is spread across the Fossil brands including, Micheal Mors Connected, Skagen Connected, Chaps, Emporio Armani and Misfit. The traditional watchmakers are keen to make a mark in the wearable market with its range of smart watches, hybrid watches and fitness trackers. Fossil is ensuring that their wearables are spread across all the segments and will also cater for the fashion conscious buyers.

Misfit Shine 2 and Ray

MisFit’s portfolio in India now includes Shine 2 and Ray. Both the bands seem to be aimed at younger population and are designed to keep them a fit and active lifestyle. Priced starting at Rs 7,495, the Misfit Shine 2 and the Misfit Ray herald with a modular design and a revamped aesthetics that lets users track their fitness goals in style. The Misfit Shine 2 comes with non-charging replaceable batteries that last for 6-months.

Fossil Q Watches

Fossil has been a sought after brand name across many categories including watches, handbags, and jewellery. The Fossil Q Wander and Q Marshal smartwatches come with touchscreen displays, steel case and classic leather straps. Both the smartwatches come with interchangeable straps that will likely with your Fashion sense. Since the device is voice activated one can also respond to the message by using voice commands or by tapping on the screen. Skagen is trying to blend in technology with fashion to create smartwatches that are not only aesthetically pleasing but are also equally functional. The Skagen collection is priced between Rs 14,295- Rs 15,495.

Emporio Armani

Armani has been the Italian answer for many of the folks looking out to buy luxury accessories. Now Armani has departed from its usual line-up to create a connected device collection which would cater for both the genders and blend in sophistication. The smartwatches are available in four metal finishes including rose gold, black, gunmetal and stainless steel. Buyers can also opt between a three-link bracelet or a leather strap. The Armani range starts from Rs 17,495 and extends up to Rs 27,995.

CHAPS

The CHAPS connected hybrid smartwatch is aimed at those want a full fledged tracker which displays notifications. The best part of this offering is that the notification system is tucked away inside a traditional watch so all the while you retain the traditional look and yet will be able to access the notifications. The smartwatch will be available in the price range of Rs 9,995 to Rs 10,495.

Since the wearable market is bustling with new launches and people are lining up to buy a smartwatch or a fitness tracker it only makes sense for traditional watchmakers like Fossil to join the bandwagon. As per IDC the wearable segment has witnessed a 41.9-percent growth in Q2 2016 and this just signals the beginning of connected devices and death knell for the traditional analogue watches.
