InFocus, the US-based OEM has unveiled its latest smartphone in India dubbed the Epic 1. It is the first smartphone from the company’s Epic lineup to launch in India. To keep things short, InFocus Epic 1 is a metal unibody smartphone that comes with upper mid-range specifications at a price of Rs 12,999.
The InFocus Epic 1 comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920x1080p) FHD LTPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top. Under the hood, the mid-range smartphone is powered by a deca-core Helio X20 (MT6797) processor from Mediatek. This is one of those latest processors from the Taiwanese chipmaker that comes with two Cortex A72 cores and a two other sets of A53 cores. Handling the graphics task is a Mali T880MP4 GPU. Just in case you are unaware, the Exynos 8890 powering the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge runs on the same GPU except for the fact that it has markedly higher number of cores.
The Helio X20 is mated with 3GB RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. There’s also room for memory expansion up to 128GB via MicroSD card slot. Talking of cameras, the InFocus Epic 1 comes with a 16 MP f/2.0 rear camera equipped with PDAF sensor. This again clubbed with an 8 MP f/1.8 front-facing selfie snapper that comes with an 82-degree wide angle lens. Besides, there’s a fingerprint sensor to the rear located just below the rear camera module. There’s an Infrared Sensor too that will come handy while controlling various gadgets including TV, AC etc.
The InFocus Epic 1 is powered by a 3000mAh battery that can be charged using a USB Type C located to the bottom of the smartphone. It comes with a Hybrid Dual SIM slot and has support for 4G VoLTE. The smartphones come in Gold color and will be exclusively available for sale via Amazon starting October 25th.
