MediaTek Announces Helio P25 With Support for Dual Camera Smartphones

MediaTek has updated its Helio P Series lineup with Helio P25. The chipset is manufactured using the 16nm process and MediaTek Images, which is an Image Signal Processor from the company. MediaTek Helio P25 seems to have been designed with the imaging capabilities as the cornerstone. The Helio P25 offers dual-camera support in tandem with power-saving technologies and other media capabilities. The Imagiq Image processor will help the devices achieve advanced features like “advanced camera effects” including shallow depth of field and enhanced auto exposure.

The MediaTek Helio P25 will support up to 24-Megapixel in resolution along with support for a 13MP+13MP dual camera. The other effects will include Color + Mono de-noise and also real-time shallow DoF Bokeh. Also, the Helio P25 will offer Video HDR with the full preview which means you get what you see. The high-performance auto focus accelerates the AE convergence speed by 30-55%.

The MediaTek Helio P25 supports up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and is made up of octa-core Cortex-A53 processors clocked up to 2.5GHz. On the graphics front, the Helio P25 will be employing Mali-T880 dual GPU clocked up to 900MHz. Furthermore, the chipset will offer better uploads in LTE (up to 64QAM) and offers advanced power efficiency features along with MediaTek’s Envelope Tracking Modulator which helps in delivering more power while keeping the heat at bay.
