Spectre Patches Whack Intel Performance Hard With Linux 4.20 Kernel


Intel CPUs take a fairly heavy hit with the Linux 4.2 kernel, thanks to security measures to protect against Spectre / Meltdown attacks. The new changes impact a larger range of tests than were hit by the patches earlier this year.
