Fresh Nokia D1C Renders Show off the Android Smartphone Sporting a Fingerprint Sensor

It’s a well-known secret that the legendary Nokia brand will be making a comeback and trying their luck with Android in early 2017. Nokia is expected to reenter the smartphone market with the Android Powered D1C smartphone which was earlier spotted on GFBench, GeekBench and also AnTuTU. While the previous spotting has revealed some of the specifications, the latest piece of information regarding the Nokia D1C comes in the form of fresh renders.

The rumor mills are predicting two version of the phone, basic and premium. Also, it is expected that Nokia will launch an entire lineup instead of just restricting itself to the D1C variants. It is quite possible that the basic version of the smartphone will come dressed in a polycarbonate body and the premium variant might opt for the metal unibody design. Needless to say, the Nokia phones are expected to be at par with the competition when it comes to the equipment level and might even steal the thunder owing to the Nokia brand name legacy.

Moving on, the D1C is rumored to come with an FHD display and will be powered by Snapdragon 430 along with Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB of RAM. On the storage front, the device will offer 32GB of internal memory (perhaps a 64GB variant as well) along with a microSD card slot that supports up to 256GB of storage. The imaging department is likely to consist of a 13-Megapixel primary sensor along with an 8-Megapixel secondary sensor. The Nokia D1C is expected to debut with the usual array of connectivity features including 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS.

While Nokia is all set to enter the smartphone market we also need to understand that this is not the same smartphone market they exited a couple of years ago. The market is literally swarming with several new devices that promise to outperform each other at the lowest price point possible. Nokia brand name might leverage the attempt to recoup but only to a certain extent beyond that it all depends on how Nokia positions itself in the market and connects with its prospective users.
