Dell is all set to unveil a 2-in-1 upgrade to the 13-inch XPS laptop. The images were spotted on Dell website. The listing is not accompanied with any details on either the specifications or the pricing but it does show the laptop in pictures. Going by the image it is but evident that Dell will retain the edge-to-edge display (a.k.a Infinity Edge) that it launched in 2013. The current Dell XPS 13 is known for its build quality but somehow lacks on the form factor front and the iterative upgrade will most likely take care of this.
Microsoft, on the other hand, has been encouraging manufacturers to build touch-friendly devices and it is doing so itself with the Surface lineup. It’s most likely that the Surface technologies including the Surface Dial will open up for the manufacturers thus eventually allowing them to build a full-fledged convertible laptop that scores high on the utilitarian front.
The Dell XPS 13 may not look much different to its predecessor in the skin but under the hood, it is very likely to have packed a dual core Kaby Lake processor while the RAM and storage options that are similar to its predecessor.Additionally, the Dell XPS 13 refresh was earlier spotted on VideoCardz.com and apparently the specifications was published by accident. Going by the earlier listing, Dell XPS 15 is expected to feature a powerful quad-core Kaby Lake CPU along with Nvidia GTX 1050 GPU with up to 4GB of video RAM. Also, the laptop will come equipped with a 4K display. It’s safe to assume that both the laptops will be announced at the upcoming CES 2017 and stay tuned for more details on this.
